Day 1 : Travel to Merzouga from Fes (7 Hours Drive)
The 2 days Fes to Marrakech Desert Tour will start with a pick-up from the airport or your accommodation in Fes. Then we’ll drive to the city of Ifrane and visit the Atlas Lion statue before heading to Azrou, along the largest cedar forest in Morocco (home of Barbary macaques). A stop will be made in Midelt for lunch. Then we continue through Errachidia, Ziz Valley, and Erfoud toward the Merzouga Desert, where you can take a camel ride through the sandy desert and witness a magnificent sunset on top of the dunes on your way to the camp.
Upon arrival at the desert camp, you will enjoy a delicious dinner and then gather around the campfire to enjoy traditional Berber drum music under the starry sky. Spend the night in a nomadic tent.
Day 2 : Merzouga to Marrakech via Dades (9 Hours Drive)
Today, we recommend waking up early to see the magical sunrise in the middle of the Sahara desert. After enjoying a warm breakfast, you will ride a camel back to the point where our driver will be waiting. Then we continue to Tinghir and stop at Todgha Gorges to enjoy the beauty of the landscape and walk along the narrow canyon floor. After that, we drive along the road of 1000 Kasbahs towards Kalaat Mgouna and Ouarzazate (the African Hollywood).
After lunch, we depart to visit the largest Kasbah in Morocco, Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah. A fortified town recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Also, the Kasbah was used as a backdrop for more than 20 films and TV series, such as Game of Thrones, Gladiator, The Mummy, etc. Finally, we drive over the High Atlas Mountains to Marrakech.
