Morocco Itinerary 8 Days Tour Plan:

Day 1 : Depart from Fes to Merzouga (470 km)

The 8 days Morocco tour from Fes will start with a pick-up from the airport or your accommodation in Fes. Then we drive to Ifrane and visit the Atlas Lion statue before heading to Azrou, along the largest cedar forest in Morocco (home of Barbary macaques). We’ll stop for lunch in Midelt. Then we continue through Errachidia, Ziz Valley, and Erfoud toward the Merzouga Desert, where you can take a camel ride over the sandy desert and witness a magnificent sunset on top of the dunes on your way to the Sahara camp.

Upon arrival at the desert camp, you’ll enjoy a delicious dinner and then gather around the campfire to enjoy traditional Berber drum music under the starry sky. Spend the night in a traditional tent.

Day 2 : Merzouga Sahara Excursion (4x4)

An early morning wake-up is recommended to witness the magical sunrise in the middle of the Sahara desert. After breakfast. You’ll ride a camel back to the point where our driver will be waiting to start exploring the region of the Merzouga desert. First, we drive to Khamlia to enjoy the Gnaoua music, and we visit the nomadic people in their handmade woven tents to explore their way of life while enjoying a cup of Berber tea.

After lunch in a restaurant, we take a stroll along the palm tree grove and then drive to Merzouga Lake, where we can see beautiful flamingo birds. Overnight in a hotel.

Day 3 : Merzouga Sahara to Dades Valley (264 km)

Today, we’ll leave the Merzouga Desert, cherishing the beautiful memories we made. Then we make our way to Rissani to explore its large souk/market and visit one of the fossil workshops in Erfoud. After that, we move on towards the Todra Gorges via the palm groves of Tinjdad. At the gorge, we stop for lunch and to admire the breathtaking views.

After lunch, we drive to Dades Valley, stopping along the way to enjoy the amazing vistas of rock formations known as monkey toes. Dinner and overnight at a local hotel.

Day 4 : Dades Valley to Ouarzazate (146 km)

After breakfast, we’ll travel along the road of 1000 Kasbahs to Kelaa Mgouna, also known as Rose Valley and famous for its annual Festival of Roses. After that, we continue through the palm grove of Skoura to visit Amridil Kasbah. Finally, we head to Ouarzazate (the Hollywood of Africa) and visit the Atlas studio and Taourirt Kasbah, which are located in the city. Overnight stay in a hotel.

Day 5 : Ouarzazate to Marrakech (212 km)

Today, we’ll depart from Ouarzazate to visit the largest Kasbah in Morocco, Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah. A fortified town recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Also, the Kasbah was used as a backdrop for more than 20 films and TV series, such as Game of Thrones, Gladiator, The Mummy, etc.

Later, we drive to Marrakech over the High Atlas Mountains and Tizi n’Tichka Pass (2260 m). Stops will be made to enjoy the panoramic views of the fascinating mountains and visit the rural Argan Oil Cooperative. Overnight at a hotel or Riad in Marrakech.

Day 6 : Full Day Tour in Marrakech

Today will be dedicated to exploring the Red City of Marrakech with a local guide. Our guide will ensure that you visit all the historical sites and cultural spots, such as the Bahia Palace, Lmnara, the Saadian tombs, and the Majorelle Garden. Moreover, we’ll explore the Koutoubia Mosque and stroll through Medina’s large Souk/Market. Then you will have free time to wander in the famous Jemaa El Fna Square, where you will see storytellers, musicians, snake charmers, healers, and countless food stalls.

Day 7 : Transfer to Rabat via Casablanca (332 km)

After breakfast, we’ll leave Marrakech and make our way to Casablanca to explore its highlights. First, we visit one of the largest functioning mosques in Africa, the Hassan 2 mosque, which is located on a promontory overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. Next, we visit the Moroccan Mall shopping center and stroll along the city’s Cornish. Then we drive along the coastline to the capital city of Morocco (Rabat). Overnight stay at a hotel.

Day 8 : Rabat to Fes via Volubilis (256 km)

In Rabat, we’ll visit the Hassan Tower, the Mausoleum of Mohammed V, and the beautiful Oudaya Garden before we travel to the archaeological site of Volubilis (Walili). Volubilis is the most attractive site in the region, as it is recognized as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
